Located on the west side of Albuquerque, ABQ GUNS is a locally owned retail firearms business dedicated to providing quality products, knowledgeable service, and professional training for personal protection, concealed carry, and recreational shooting.

We proudly serve a diverse community of customers, including women, first-time firearm owners, experienced shooters, active and retired law enforcement officers, firefighters, military personnel, and security professionals.

Our staff includes certified NRA instructors and licensed New Mexico Concealed Carry instructors with decades of combined experience in firearms, law enforcement, security, training, and customer service. We also offer firearm transfer services for $25 per item, subject to applicable conditions and requirements.

Arnie Gallegos — Owner & Lead Instructor

With more than 40 years of firearms experience and over 20 years in training and instruction, Arnie Gallegos leads ABQ GUNS with a strong commitment to education, safety, and customer service.

Arnie is a commissioned Law Enforcement Officer with the Jemez Springs Police Department and has served in law enforcement for more than a decade. He is a certified NRA Instructor and a licensed New Mexico Concealed Carry Instructor, accredited by the New Mexico Department of Public Safety for more than 10 years.

His diverse professional background includes law enforcement, security, education, information technology, firearms training, and personal protection. This experience gives him a broad perspective on firearms, safety, training, and customer service.

Above all, Arnie is committed to providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that every customer leaves ABQ GUNS with the knowledge and information necessary to make confident, responsible decisions.

Sean Baros — Business Manager & NFA Specialist

With 18 years of experience in the security industry, Sean Baros oversees business operations and specializes in NFA-related sales and services.

As a Silencer Shop Specialist and NFA Compliance Officer, Sean helps customers navigate the processes associated with suppressors and other NFA-regulated items while maintaining a strong focus on compliance and customer service.

His reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to helping customers make informed decisions make him an important part of the ABQ GUNS team.

Kelly Gallegos — Associate Owner, Accounting & Office Manager

Kelly Gallegos serves as Associate Owner and oversees the company’s accounting, purchasing, compliance, and administrative operations.

She holds a Master’s degree and brings six years of experience in retail management and accounting. As the company’s NICS Compliance Officer, Kelly helps ensure that firearm transactions are conducted in accordance with applicable federal requirements.

Her attention to detail and organizational expertise help keep the business operating efficiently while supporting ABQ GUNS’ commitment to responsible and compliant transactions.

Brad Greggerson — Sales & Customer Support

With more than 20 years of experience in the firearms industry, Brad Greggerson brings extensive product knowledge and customer-service experience to the ABQ GUNS sales team.

Brad is dedicated to helping customers understand their options and find products that meet their individual needs.

Kasey Yates — Sales & Customer Support

With 15 years of experience in the firearms industry, Kasey Yates provides knowledgeable sales and customer support during the week.

His approachable style, industry experience, and strong product knowledge help customers navigate their options and find the equipment that best fits their needs.

Tyler Hollon — Weekend Sales Manager

Tyler Hollon brings four years of firearms-industry experience to the ABQ GUNS team and serves as our Weekend Sales Manager.

Known for his customer-focused approach and willingness to assist, Tyler provides knowledgeable support to customers throughout the weekend and continues to build his expertise in the industry.

Dave Clark — Safety Specialist & Training Lead

With more than 20 years of experience in safety counseling, Dave Clark brings a strong background in public safety and emergency services to ABQ GUNS.

Dave is a former firefighter, arson investigator, and Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Deputy. Today, he helps lead employee training and customer-service initiatives at ABQ GUNS.

His experience and focus on safety protocols provide valuable insight into our commitment to customer education, responsible practices, and a strong safety culture.

Derren Owen — Sales & Information Manager

Derren Owen oversees sales operations at firearm shows while also supporting day-to-day sales at our retail location.

As a Purchasing Agent, Derren plays an important role in helping maintain product availability and ensuring that our inventory reflects the needs of our customers.

His communication skills, product knowledge, and experience make him a valuable member of the ABQ GUNS team.

Derren Owen Jr. — Firearms Sales & Service

With 15 years of experience in firearms sales and service, Derren Owen Jr. combines extensive industry experience with a passion for shooting sports.

He enjoys working with both experienced shooters and those who are new to firearms, helping customers develop their knowledge and confidence through education and hands-on experience.

Sherri Owen — NICS Compliance & Purchasing

Sherri Owen manages NICS compliance at firearm shows and assists with purchasing operations.

Her attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of regulatory requirements help ensure that transactions are handled accurately and in accordance with applicable requirements.

David Langham — Facility Maintenance, Logistics & Purchasing

David Langham manages day-to-day facility logistics, including purchasing, product movement, shipping, and related operational responsibilities.

With more than 20 years of experience in his field, David provides valuable support behind the scenes, helping ensure that products and operations move efficiently throughout the facility.

Kurt Carlson — Sales, Facility & Customer Training

A four-time World Champion in WBAS 3-Gun competition, winning championships in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014, Kurt Carlson brings more than 30 years of hands-on experience in firearms, ammunition, reloading, and training to ABQ GUNS.

Kurt has also earned numerous national, regional, and state-level shooting titles throughout his career.

His professional experience includes serving as an international shooting consultant and working with members of the U.S. Army, U.S. Marshals Service, Albuquerque Police Department, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, and Jemez Springs Police Department.

Kurt’s extensive competitive, technical, and training background allows him to provide valuable knowledge and perspective to both customers and fellow team members.
